Azure Data Platform and Data Migration

Project Summary

Modernization of a manually intensive data process from Microsoft Access and disparate CSV, Excel, and Python components to an Azure-based platform.  Project team analyzed business rules, data sources, security, network, Azure infrastructure, ADF configuration, and manual processes, and migrated the Access ODS schema to Azure SQL, converted queries to T-SQL, configured Databricks/Python execution, and built Azure Data Factory orchestration.

Project progressed through infrastructure and ETL testing, production deployment validation, runbook preparation, and post-implementation feedback.  When additional pipeline parameterization and orchestration work emerged, these were separated into a formal change-request/effort-true-up workstreams with their own sequenced deliverables.

Project Details
  • Critical external dependency management, including client access, updated Python scripts, and resolution of a Databricks issue
  • Separate test phase with testing activities to cover infrastructure and ETL/orchestration, deployment validation of infrastructure, pipelines, triggers, and integration.
  • Change request provided for additional data parameterization, a three-step notebook process, refactored dynamic queries, and a new extraction pipeline.
demonstrated capabilities

Strong examples of end-to-end technical delivery and formal scope/change management, with project management accountability for significant change request approval and workstream support in an active delivery-owner role.  Strong dependency management was required across test/deploy sequencing and cutover readiness.
